Fall-ing Into the Moment

By Micky Wolf

I finally gave up. Totally. Completely.

Why?

I couldn’t focus on the task at hand. Couldn’t string words or thoughts together. The more I tried, the less there was to show for the effort.

There are some precious moments in this life when goodness, beauty, and the incredible wonder of God’s Creation needs—no deserves—the fullness of our attention. Our thoughts. Our feelings. Our emotions.

Today is one of those days. While neither you nor I can know of our circumstances at the time you read these words, of this one thing we can be assured—sometimes the greatest blessings God desires to pour out upon us are those He invites us to savor and appreciate in this one moment. The now.

The whispering breeze, the clarity of light, the warmth of the sunshine, the sweet loveliness of the early fall day in this part of the country—as near perfect as anyone could ever hope or dream possible.

As He said in the beginning, “it is good”.

Without a doubt there will be days of raindrops, tears, and frowns.

But today?

Maybe this is the special moment God invites you to fall into. Totally. Completely.

Only then will the trying cease. Only then will you and I be able to truly see and experience the fruit of His efforts—to breathe in and be enfolded with the Love and Peace that surpass all human understanding.
